“Late
in 2010, we decided to redo all the window coverings in our house.
We contacted the local Hunter-Douglas dealer—High Country
Real Estate—because we knew Hunter-Douglas was a quality
company. High Country was easy to work with: Sharon came out with
samples of fabric and styles to help us match our décor;
Chico measured the 30+ windows we had, and Yvonne quickly got
our order in. The shades, Duette Archuleta, came in quickly, and
they were installed perfectly. As the winter progressed, we noticed
a huge difference in how warm the house was overnight—an
especially good thing when all our heat went out for five days
in the coldest February stretch northern New Mexico ever had!
During regular weather, we took advantage of the top-down, bottom
up shades on our large windows to use as much solar gain as we
could during the days while ... the window coverings in our house.

When summer came, we noticed again how much the shades insulated
the house—closed, they kept it cooler during the day. When
the smoke from forest fires kept us from opening windows at night,
the house was still cool enough to be comfortable.” Bob

“Hunter Douglas Shades: This is our first winter in the
Taos home we purchased in October, 2010. In December we purchased
Hunter Douglas insulated custom shades recommended to us by High
County Design services. We cannot say enough about the service
from High Country -- measuring, ordering, installing and we LOVE
the Hunter Douglas product. The insulation is amazing --- and
this is the winter to test it. After living without heat for five
days due to the regional natural gas shut-off -- using only space
heaters-- we HAD to write this review. The shades worked to keep
our home livable in the harshest of conditions --- and they are
beautiful. We highly recommend the Hunter Douglas product for
mountain living --and High County knows how to deliver it.”
